Get started
Install the app
Get the Android app, or install HiveSight from your browser on a computer or iPhone.
Android: download the app
- On your phone, open hivesight.xyz/HiveSight.apk to download the app.
- Open the downloaded file. Android asks you to allow installing from your browser; allow it, then tap Install.
- Open HiveSight.
The Android app has home-screen widgets for your to-dos, projects and latest notes, and keeps an automatic backup. New versions install over the old one, and your notes stay.
You can also find the download in HiveSight on the website: Settings → Get the Android app.
Don't want to install an app? You can add the website to your home screen instead: open hivesight.xyz in Chrome, then menu ⋮ → Add to Home screen (or Install app). It works offline too, but has no widgets.
Windows, Mac and Linux: install from your browser
There's no separate download for computers. You install HiveSight from the browser, and it then works like an app: it has its own icon and window, opens without the browser bar, and works offline.
- Open hivesight.xyz in Chrome or Edge.
- Click the install icon at the right end of the address bar, or open the browser menu and choose Install HiveSight (in some versions: Cast, save and share → Install page as app).
- HiveSight opens in its own window. Find it later in your Start menu, Launchpad or app list.
You can also use Settings → Install app on this device inside HiveSight. Safari on Mac: File → Add to Dock.
iPhone and iPad
There's no App Store app yet. Add the website to your home screen:
- Open hivesight.xyz in Safari.
- Tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
Updates
HiveSight updates itself; there's nothing to download again.
- Right after you open it: if a new version is out and you haven't tapped anything yet, it switches straight away.
- If you're already using it: a New version ready button appears at the top. Tap Update, or carry on: it switches by itself the next time you leave the app. It never reloads while you're in the middle of something.
